Jake was raised climbing and hiking the mountains of California and exploring West’s deserts with his parents and friends. After a few years of rock climbing, he decided to implement his passion for digital arts into the sport. At the age of 17, he booked his first shoot. Another two years later at the age of 19, he left his home in the Bay Area and moved to Squamish to pursue climbing, photography and school full time.
His parents always fostered a love for the arts so there is no surprise he chose a creative path as well. Jake shoots with the editing process in mind so the real art behind his photography comes after importing them to his laptop. Jake spent countless hours learning to edit in free editing programs and later moving into Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Most of his editing knowledge comes from trying and failing as well as Youtube and friends.
Jake has a profound love for both climbing and photography and has the intention to pursue both throughout life. He hopes to share these passions with as many people as possible and make friends along the way.
